Colin Crouch
Professor of sociology, Warwick Business School
Political scientist and sociologist, Professor Colin Crouch is an expert in comparative European sociology. He previously taught sociology at the London School of Economics and was tutor in politics at Trinity College, Oxford, professor of sociology at the University of Oxford and professor of sociology at the European University Institute, Florence. Professor Crouch is a fellow of the British Academy, a member of the Academy of Social Sciences and the External Scientific member of the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies in Cologne. Chairman of the Political Quarterly and former president of the Society for the Advancement of Socio-Economics (SASE), he has published within the fields of comparative European sociology and industrial relations, economic sociology and contemporary issues in politics. He is currently studying processes of institutional innovation in the economy and in public policy. His published works include Social Change in Western Europe (1999), Changing Governance of Local Economics: Response of European Local Production Systems (2004), Capitalistic Diversity and Change: Recombinant Governance and Institutional Entrepreneurs (2005) and Innovation in Local Economies (2009).
