Starting up the business
As soon as BCL was founded, we were asked to conduct a performance audit of a leading French company in the process of internationalization, subsequently providing counsel and assistance in implementing numerous concrete improvements to perfect international communication.
Working on strategic issues
Since then, BCL’s multidisciplinary team has pooled its resources to assist this leading French company, helping to pave the way for its international development by providing:
- Assistance with all CEO speeches delivered to international audiences
- Quality control of all strategic international communication coming from the CEO’s office
- All International versions of the annual report
- Quality control of financial communication vis-à-vis international targets
- Training program for executives in global literacy for the Group’s Corporate University

Building a high caliber team
- LAUCHNING THE FIRM: The BCL Communications team has progressively grown over the years and brings together a select group of individuals with diverse and complementary skills and backgrounds. In 1997, Jean-Michel Fauve, Chief Officer of one of the largest French companies, advised Danielle Brunon on the need for this type of service and then helped found the firm.
- THE GLOBAL LITERACY BRANCH: From the very beginning, Philip Golub brought his outstanding expertise to the development of the global literacy branch of the business, which he heads to this day, along with our network of experts.
- THE COACHING BRANCH:
• Since 2001, Jeannette de Vigan, intercultural communications coach, has regularly worked with BCL
• Danielle Savage is the senior BCL consultant for Executive Career Development. - THE EDITORIAL BRANCH:
• In 2000 and 2001, two top experts in international financial communication, Jennifer McDonald, based in Paris, and Susan Davidson-Gorska, based in London, began working with BCL.
• In 2002, Letitia Farris-Toussaint, a specialist in the fields of research and development, biodiversity and environmental issues, joined the team.
• In 2003, Inge Laino started working with BCL as freelance editorial assistant.
• Neil Clarke started working with BCL in 2007 and is in charge of writing and quality control for legal documents. - GOING MULTILINGUAL: From 2003, the coaching and editorial branches have gone truly multilingual with:
• Fulvia Alberti, Marina Ferrario and Eugenio Gastaldi for Italian
• Michael Tillmann for German
• Deborah Rofman for Spanish
• Monica Bieniek for Polish - PARIS HEADQUARTERS: Sophie Mestrallet joined the consultancy in 2004 as head of coordination. In 2008, she was named project manager, Patricia Stumpf replaced her as head of coordination, Tom Stevens joined BCL as senior editor, and Sarah Hunt as editorial/coordination assistant. Jessica Rauch joined the BCL team in 2009 as administrative assistant.
- THE LONDON BRANCH: Susan Davidson-Gorska, expert in international financial communication, heads up BCL London.
- THE NEW YORK BRANCH: Kristin Gager, PhD Princeton University, based in New York, joined BCL in 2007 as senior research advisor on international relations and editorial consultancy and heads up BCL New York.
