Jean-François Doulet

Jean-François Doulet has studied trends in Chinese cities for more than ten years. He teaches a course on Chinese cities and globalization at the Institut d’Études Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po), lecturing regularly on the topic at a number of other institutions, including the University of Geneva and Harvard. A former grant recipient of the French Ministry of Education and Research, Mr. Doulet participated in an interdisciplinary research program on cities with the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), and defended his doctoral dissertation on the challenges of urbanization and transport in Peking. His current focus, urban cooperation between France, Europe and China, takes him regularly to Chinese cities for research and the international meetings he organizes. He is the author of numerous publications including Paris – Pékin, civiliser l’automobile (2003) and the bilingual French/Chinese Croissance urbaine, modes de transport et intermodalité (2003), as well as a blog dedicated to the China’s urban centers, Villes Chinoises.
