Lars Bo Kaspersen

Lars Bo Kaspersen is an expert on the welfare state models of Denmark and other Nordic countries, focusing on flexi-security. He has also worked critically with the globalization and Europeanization processes. Professor of politics and sociology, he is now director of the International Center for Business and Politics. Prior to that, he taught at the Universities of Copenhagen and of Aarhus. He specializes in questions relating to the challenges raised by the 27-member European Union and globalization, and how Scandinavian countries are responding. He has been visiting scholar at the University of Southampton, Birbek College in the UK and the University of California Santa Barbara. He contributed to the book National Identity and the Varieties of Capitalism: the Danish Experience (2006) and wrote Danmark i Verden (“Denmark in the World”), published in 2008.
