Noëlle Burgi
Senior Researcher in political science and sociology at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique
Noëlle Burgi, a specialist in French and European social and employment policy, is a senior researcher in sociology and political science at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), a member of the Sorbonne’s Centre for Political Research, and a consultant. She has worked in the UK with the London School of Economics and the University of Essex, as well as in the US with Harvard’s Center for European Studies. Ms. Burgi has contributed to several major European studies on the construction of the European social model (scientific research and expertise for the European Commission) and has led several qualitative surveys in France. She is the author of a number of articles and three books, including La machine à exclure: Les faux semblants du retour à l’emploi, released in 2007
